Product description:

The DTD 171 cordless impact driver is the new top model in the Makita DTD series. The brushless 18 Volt engine ensures high endurance, high efficiency and wear-free work. The device ensures perfect handling owing to its compact design. It features four speeds and four intelligent support modes. In the four regular gears, the number of revolutions and strokes increases with each step. In the wood mode, the machine starts at a low speed until the screw grips and the resistance increases. Then the impact driver increases the revolutions. In loosening mode, the impact driver supports the unscrewing by loosening the screw, nut, or similar with a lot of force, but then reduces the speed - so nothing falls down and the material is protected. The Tech-Mode 1, as well as the Tech-Mode 2, facilitate the screwing with drill tip into solid materials like metal. As soon as the screw grips and the impact starts, the speed is reduced. The first T-Mode is suitable for thin metal plates and the second T-Mode for thick metal plates. Conveniently, the mode selection can be done with one hand only for maximum flexibility. The strong toolholder also reduces bit shaking. The two built-in LEDs on the right and left side of the casing ensure optimum illumination of the working area without casting annoying shadows, as is sometimes the case with just one LED.
