- Application recommendation: Increasing the cutting speed results in a slightly finer surface. Increasing the contact pressure results in a slightly coarser surface. The softer the material to be processed, the coarser the surface (when using , For best performance, use at a recommended cutting speed of 15-20 m/s. This achieves an ideal compromise between stock removal rate, surface quality, temperature load on the workpiece and tool wear. The stock removal rate should be increased by using a coarser grit size and not by increasing the contact pressure in order to prevent unnecessary tool wear and thermal stress on the workpiece.
